Adoption boundaries have steadily extended since the World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War, where many children became orphans. As a response to them winners, especially Americans, started to adopt children from the war-torn countries (Wilkinson 1995, 174). Thus, it was a start point for international adoption. Intercountry (international or transnational) adoption is defined as adoption, where child is removed to the adoptees’ country. In recent times motives to adopt internationally are explained as charity of wealthier and more developed nations, a wish to help countries, which are fighting with economic problems, and also insufficient numbers of babies within the country. The rate of international adoption increased dramatically,†¦show more content†¦In past years a rate of international adoption increased by approximately 16% from 1998 to 2007 (Selman 2009, 576). Figure 1 shows the rate of international adoption increased dramatically from approximately 32000 to 45000 children in 1998- 2004 years; then it has started to decrease. Such big numbers in the rate of international adoption and popularity of it raises more and more positive and negative concerns. The whole society started to pay more attention to it, asking questions and raising ethical dilemma of international adoption. The importance of this topic is significant, since children should be considered as the most precious parts of every nation. Country’s well-being includes not only economic stability and military force, but children’s happiness as well. Especially the future and happiness of abandoned children depends on international adoption. Accordingly, taking into account rate of intercountry adoption and its current problems the topic is relevant nowadays. According to Wrosch and Scheier (2003), there is no absolute or generally agreed upon definition of personality. They claim that personality has as many definitions as there are personality theorists and researchers. Personality can be of psychological importance when traits defining such personality provide information as to what a person is really like according to Williams, Saiz, FormyDuval, Munick, Fogle, Adom, Ahams, Neto, and Jiayuan (1995). They state that some traits are more diagnostic in essence as they provide information concerning an individual’s psychological makeup. A generality of such traits, therefore, can be used to understand and predict behavior. Literature about personality implies that it is necessary to prove or disprove its existence, stability, consistency, and generality and yet the ability to utilize such information as it pertains to our everyday lives would be of more value (Phares Lamiell, 1977; Wrosch Scheier, 2003). Reaching an understanding about celebrities’ lives may be a difficult thing, because the media portrays of them what they wish and celebrities only show what they wish. To reach an understanding, you would need to consider the lyrics of their songs, the way they dress, how often they are included in the media, etc. Considering these factors would help build a vague understanding of what the celebrity is going through in life. Self-Knowledge What are the limits of my knowledge about music? The limits of my knowledge about music start with the styles of music I don’t listen to. Music I listen to most often includes hip hop, RB, pop, and rap. I listen to country, oldies, alternative, contemporary, etcetera less often. Styles I don’t listen to at all include heavy metal, screamo, and classical. Styles I don’t listen to at all or less often create a limit to my knowledge of music. Another factor to my limits on knowledge about music is the fact that I mostly listen to music only on the radio or on YouTube. The radio plays mainstream songs most often, while YouTube requires you to search for a song or click on a related video which would mean you already knew about that artist. What are my strengths and weaknesses in dance? I started dancing when I was 13 years old, so my main weakness is technique in jazz and ballet. That consists of well pointed toes, stretched legs and knees in the air, and turnout in your legs and feet. Something I am alright at is my flexibility. I have good flexibility, but not extraordinary like a contortionist. My main strength is in hip hop dance, it’s the style of dance that I first started out with and have the biggest passion for. When I dance hip hop, I hit my accents hard and put a lot of energy into my movements. These are my strengths and weaknesses in dance.
